moreThis handsome Mid-Century Modernist angular sculpture signed R.H. originates from the United States Circa 1970. Formed in aluminum with a variety of surface qualities and treatments, the piece rests upon an integral base made of a plate of aluminum fixed atop paneling of Black Bakelite. This juxtaposition of materials creates a striking contrast of values cementing the piece and drawing the eye from the base upwards. The two primatial vertical angular elements overlap in three dimensions forming dynamic relationships of intersecting lines and negative shapes as one moves around the piece. Textural variation in the slender polished edges to precise machining of parallel lines or smooth surfaces front surfaces bring the material alive and reward deeper observation. A beautiful example of Modernist formal values and exploration of emotion through these elements, this piece will style beautifully in a wide array of interiors and design settings from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Postmodern Design. Signed R.H on the aluminum portion of the base. In Excellent Vintage Condition.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
